Public Summer Book Catalogue — Cover Illustration
Illustration / Editorial Design / 2022

Every summer, Public releases a special free-press book catalogue dedicated to books, with each edition featuring a cover created by a selected illustrator.

I was invited to illustrate the cover of the 2022 edition, Choose the Title of Your Summer. The concept celebrates the idea that there is a book for everyone — whoever you are, whatever you seek, and wherever your imagination takes you. I illustrated swimmers and divers plunging into literature, turning reading into a playful summer escape. In the background, excerpts from a text by Andreas Karkavitsas about the sea create an additional literary layer, while a large octopus weaves itself through the title of the cover, blending image and typography into one fluid composition. Through vibrant colours, unexpected perspectives and a sense of movement, the illustration invites readers to dive into stories and discover their own journey through books.
