Greenpeace Act for the Climate March in Athens

Hundreds of citizens participated in the Athens Climate March. The march was organised by 34 NGOs, initiatives, movements, entities, civil societies and civilians. The message was loud and clear: our deadline to save the climate, our planet, our lives and the future generations is at 1.5°C. This action in Athens was organised in response to the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) and the country’s draft National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), which is not compatible neither with the Paris Climate Agreement to keep global temperature under 1.5°C nor with the warning of the scientific community as presented in the latest IPCC report. Our leaders must act now and never forget that it is our basic human right to live on a clean and safe planet.
